The Santa Cecilia Competition in 2021 marked the inaugural event sponsored by FAM in the field of Awards and Prizes, for impact investments, specifically recognizing scientific merit organizations, sports competitions, and musical events.
The FAM Foundation is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Santa Cecília International Piano Competition (CISC), a distinguished event with over 50 years of history. Organized by the Música Silva Monteiro course, the CISC is one of the largest and oldest piano competitions, attracting participants from around the globe. Since 2012, the competition has gained international prominence, bringing thousands of talented pianists from various nationalities to Porto, Portugal. The CISC not only showcases emerging musical talent but also positions Porto as a key hub for promising piano careers.
Other projects of Santa Cecília International Competition
In addition to the main competition, the CISC hosts several events, including the Piano Marathon and the new Piano Itinerante starting in 2024. These events engage both professional musicians and music enthusiasts, turning the competition into a citywide celebration of music. Beyond the competitive period, the CISC offers Masterclasses both locally and internationally. The festival also features performances by previous contestants, nurturing long-term relationships between performers and audiences.
Affiliated with the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC), the CISC upholds high standards of artistic excellence, integrity, and fairness. The WFIMC, established in 1957, supports young musicians' careers and fosters global dialogue and collaboration among its 110 member organizations.
